July 10, 2025 marked the 4 year anniversary of one of the scariest moments in my life. That horrible day has replayed in a loop in my mind daily since it happened. I’m not the type of person that knows how to deal with my own stress very well. I ignore my own feelings and issues to make sure that I can keep everything and everyone else together. I know it’s not healthy, but it’s gotten me this far.
Things could have been much worse. Thankfully, no one was hurt during that incident. It was almost immediately after that incident that I realized something I never really knew about myself. I really enjoy writing. I had to compose myself and sit down to write down the events that occurred. I felt that if I didn’t do this immediately, I wouldn’t remember what just happened. I used to wake up in the middle of the night and write down dreams and this felt just like that. The more I wrote, the better I felt. I ended up writing a short story about the event that would prove useful later on.
I’m new to the world of sharing my thoughts with others. I’ve never been huge into sharing via social media or any other platform. I do enjoy a good lengthy, in person conversations though especially if it’s with older generations that have so much to say. I don’t know how you came to find yourself on my site, but If you read beyond this page, you may learn a lot about me and the things I enjoy, as well as not enjoy so much in my day to day life. I don’t have anything specific to share, but I also don’t have many topics that are off limits to share with you.
One of my favorite hobbies is collecting hobbies. I’m not sure if that’s a thing, but I have so many hobbies that I can never keep up with them. My primary hobby is my work. I live in Southern California and I work in Post Production. I love what I do for a living. I don’t know how to do anything else. I sincerely enjoy being part of the film making community. Keeping up with trends and technology in this ever changing landscape is challenging. No two days are ever the same when you are busy and there is never any slow time if you are open and willing to learn new things.
I should have actually started this with an introduction. “Robato Desu” is a very informal way of introducing myself in Japanese. The phrase simply means, “I’m Robert”. If you are interested in Post Production, learning about my different hobbies, or just want to see how long I keep up with this hobby, I hope you find something of interest here and come back to check in, and yes learning Japanese and Japanese culture is has remained in the top 3 of my hobbies since birth!
